  • Summary - “My Losing Season” by Pat Conroy, is a very touching story. The story begins with Pat being born in to a very military-like family, with a father who is not afraid to hit his own child. Pat uses basketball as a getaway, as well as writing. He realizes he is good at both at a young age, and becomes the best as he could be in both professions. He is offered a basketball scholarship at the Citadel University, and begins his career as a basketball player. The story fast-forwards to his senior year, and the team is falling apart. The coach is losing faith, and pat needs to keep the team together. In the end, the team goes 8-17, but Pat builds friendships along the way, and continues with his career as a writer after college.
